Clear Lake Midsommar Party* June 25-27, 2010 Clear Lake Summer Cabin* (This particular Clearlake weekend is
expected to be more crowded and noisy than usual). Thomas Nielsen & Atle Erlingson are Cabin Masters for this event. One of Sweden's most important holidays is Midsommar, a celebration of the summer solstice (and fertility). For many young Swedes it is a raucous party affair, and the festivities at the YSC's lakeside cabin do not disappoint. Every year it is a full house at Clear Lake, with well over 100 people in attendance.
As always, expect a majstång (may pole), drinking songs, traditional food, and of course an excellent party. And unlike in Sweden, sunny, warm weather is almost guaranteed.
Due to the popularity of this event, there will be a strict limit to the number of guests a member may bring. Be sure that your membership is current, or that you apply for membership well in advance. This is, after all, an event for Scandinavians and those of Scandinavian affiliation. This event is open to YSC members and their
guests only. Reservations: Reservations are required for this event. Make your reservation during the week of the event.
