Annual Mother's Day Mt. Tam Hike and BBQ Sunday, May 9th, 2010 10:30am Mount Tamalpais State Park Mill Valley Liv & Einar in their spectacular garden!
The Mt. Tam hike and BBQ is just around the corner. For almost three decades running, YSC members Liv and Einar Asbo have graciously opened their beautiful home and garden to the Club for this widely-anticipated spring event. This idyllic setting is a truly wonderful place to spend Mother’s Day. The day starts with an invigorating hike on beautiful Mt. Tamalpais. As usual, we will have two hikes, one more challenging but still enjoyable, and then a second shorter, more leisurely hike. Specific hiking location will be chosen by veteran hike leader Signe Vik based on weather conditions. Hikers should meet at 10:30 AM at the intersection of Miller Avenue and Reed Street in Mill Valley near the Chevron station (the normal parking area for the BBQ) and will carpool/caravan to the start of the hikes. Please be on time. If you are running a few minutes late or get lost please call Signe Vik at 415-272-2397. Bring water, lunch, windbreaker, sunblock, and a camera.
After we have worked up an appetite, we’ll make our way down to the Asbos’ Mill Valley retreat to relax, spend time with friends, and, most of all, enjoy the great food in the loveliest rose garden in the Bay Area. Non-hikers should plan to arrive around 3PM. Cost is $14 per adult. Children 7-12 are $7.00, kids under 6 are free. This event is open to YSC members and their
